Things look pretty equal as you look around, don’t they? Women have the right to vote, the right to speak out, the right to work, even the right to wear whichever clothes they choose and to date whoever they like. Things weren’t always like this though. Even as recently as 100
years ago gender equality was almost non-existent and the divide between men and women was huge. Whilst things are not perfect in our modern society and
there are always things to strive for and work towards, we should acknowledge and show gratitude towards the women who dedicated their lives to achieve gender equality as we know it today.
Every vote count
On 18th August 1920, something incredible happened in America. Thanks to the women’s suffrage movement, the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution was created, giving women the right to vote for the first time in many states across the US. This momentous day has been celebrated in the USA every year since 1971 and we believe men and women around the world should join in too!
