International Left Handers Day

All hail the left handers! Okay, so maybe ‘hail’ is a bit OTT, but in case you weren’t aware, Saturday 13th August will be the 25th annual Left Handers Day!

Left HandFirst celebrated back in 1992, International Left Handers Day (ILHD) aims to increase public awareness of the advantages and disadvantages of being left handed! ILHD has grown extensively over the years, with modern day celebrations taking place across the globe. There have even been exciting events including a left handed tea party and lefty-only drinking in pubs!

Despite making up around 10% of the British population, lefties (or left handed people) have often been forced to muddle on in a right handed world. It’s not all bad news though; tin openers, scissors, rulers and knives have now all been adapted to perfectly suit those of a left-handed persuasion, and that’s not all…

Did you know that left handed folk are supposedly better at multi-tasking, have greater 3D perception, make incredible tennis players and are unimaginably attractive to the opposite sex*?

If you’re a leftie or you know someone who is, why not give them a call, wherever they are in the world, and celebrate International Left Handers Day on the 13th August! Cherry Call offers incredibly cheap deals on international calls to almost every destination imaginable, don’t you know?

*Okay, so we made that last one up… but hey, it could be true!
