Darwin Day

Darwin Day is almost here! February 12th marks a worldwide celebration of the inspirational Charles Darwin, his forward thinking and unwavering resilience to simply accept traditional knowledge of how the modern human race came to exist. He is best known throughout the world for his groundbreaking, and controversial, research into evolution.

A British gem

Charles Robert Darwin was an English naturalist and geologist; he was born in 1809 in Shropshire and died in 1882 in Kent at the age of 73 and not only significantly influenced science and philosophy during his time but his discoveries and theories continue to do so today!

Despite his passing in the 19th century, the celebration of Darwin Day wasn’t created until more than 100 years after his death, but it is now celebrated in the UK, USA and beyond.
