There’s lots of fun and exciting things to do in this Estonian metropolis, but to help you make the most of your visit we’ve created a list of our 4 favourite things to do whilst visiting this fabulous city…
- Take a stroll down Katariina Käik – This beautiful and highly historic cobbled street is located in the old town and is a must-see part of this wonderful city. Whilst the entrance to this street is often obscured by outdoor seating belonging to the thriving local cafes, if you squeeze past the coffee sippers you’ll be greeted by local artisans both making and selling their wares!
- Go to prison! Okay, so we’re not talking about robbing a bank or stealing a car here, instead you can visit the old prison in Tallinn safe in the knowledge that you’re free to leave at any time! Patarei prison offers guided tours around the old sea-fronted fortress and there’s even a beachside cafe to boot – how very civilised!
- Meander through Kadriorg Park – Mostly unchanged for the last 300 years, Kadriorg Park was designed for Tsars to relax and enjoy themselves, and now you can too! Covering around 70 hectares, the park houses a wide range of stunning flowers, several museums and monuments and even a pond that’s home to beautiful swans.
- Head over to Balti Jaama Turg – Nope, it’s not a curry house! In fact, it’s not even a restaurant at all. Balti Jaama Turg is Tallinn’s Russian market and is held opposite the Balti Jaam railway station. Here you’ll find all manner of goodies including fresh food, local produce, clothing and tableware to enjoy during your stay or to take home with you as gifts!
We’ve only scratched the surface with our 4 things to do in Tallinn; this wonderful city has a whole lot more to offer, so why not go and explore it for yourself! Whilst you’re there your friends and family can call you cheaply and keep up-to-date with your Estonian adventures through Cherry Call; simply give them the international dialling code of 00372 and point them in the direction of our website!
